What department?  

The Analytics Engineering Center of Excellence team, with over 100 members and expanding, aims to make ING data-driven by leveraging Data and Analytics to deliver impactful solutions. We foster a collaborative and creative work environment focused on supporting our people and projects. 

  

Role description  

As an AI Engineer, you are passionate about working with modern software engineering practices and Agentic AI, and ready to drive the development and scaling of distributed agentic AI solutions, from concept to production. In this newly set-up team, you will work closely with data scientists and product owners, to build multi‑agent frameworks and to orchestrate interactions between agents. Your work will ensure robust, scalable AI capabilities that are integrated within the bank to deliver real business impact. 

 

Do you recognize yourself in this profile:  

  • Python programming proficiency. 

  • Experience with Microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, async programming. 

  • Experience with designing distributed software with cloud-based managed services (preferably GCP). 

  • Deployment and provisioning automation tools e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, CI/CD. 

  • Basic networking knowledge. 

  • Basic understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform). 

  • Familiarity with concepts such as neural networks, model training/testing, LLM architectures. 

  • Familiarity with agentic frameworks (ADK, LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI) and design of multi-agent systems. 

  • Practical experience with LLMs (Gemini, Claude etc.), RAG systems, and vector DBs. 

  • Proficiency of software engineering best practices including version control, testing, documentation, and code review. 

  • Collaborating with SMEs (data scienstis, data analysts, product owner) in a newly set-up team. 

   

Nice to have (but Not Required): Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. Experience in these areas is a bonus: 

  • Production-ready, software engineering mindset. We are setting up our teams from scratch and prefer candidates who have built modern applications from scratch, and ensured it reached production environments. 

  • Basic understanding of Java/Kotlin for connectivity to ING internal systems. 

  • Background in monitoring and observability with tools like Google CloudTrace, LangSmith, Langfuse, Phoenix Arize. 

  • Involvement in the implementation and deployment of cloud solutions incorporating Generative AI and LLM technologies. 

  • Experience in developing and maintaining high load APIs, and OpenAPI integration and governance. 

  • Strong GCP and event-driven architecture skills. 

  • Contribution to open-source projects is considered advantageous.
